Assessment of Nutri-Pak® vs. Fertilizer Tablets

SAFETY:

• Nutri-Pak® fertilizers are sealed in packets so the user never comes into contact with the raw fertilizer.
  
  Fertilizer Tablets are handled directly, the chemicals contact skin and can be absorbed into the body.
• Nutri-Pak® nutrients do not leach with heavy rain or irrigation due to the patent pending release process.
  
  Fertilizer Tablets will breakdown quickly with heavy rain or irrigation causing excess nutrients to leach.

PERFORMANCE:

• Nutri-Pak® 2 oz. packets will release nutrients for 3-5 years with one application depending on locale.
  
  Fertilizer Tablets 21 gram tablets will release nutrients for 2 years with one application.
• Nutri-Pak® does not rely on uniform watering for nutrient release, and uses the soil's 100% relative humidity.
  
  Fertilizer Tablets rely on uniform watering to get an even release of nutrients to the plant's roots.

• Nutri-Pak® brings trees and plants to maturity sooner, with one application, because of its extended release time.
  
  Fertilizer Tablets can not achieve as much growth for the plant unless a second application is made after 2 years.

APPLICATION:

• Nutri-Pak® requires 1 packet per caliper inch of trunk diameter and 1 packet per 12" of plant height or spread.
  
  Fertilizer Tablets require 4 tablets per caliper inch of trunk diameter and 2 tablets per 12-18" of plant height.
• Nutri-Pak® has multiple N-P-K formulations insuring that each type of plant receives the appropriate nutrients.
  
  Fertilizer Tablets have one formulation (20-10-5) that is recommended for all types of plants, flowering and non.
• Nutri-Pak® is easier to handle in the rain or with wet hands because they do not start dissolving in your hand.
  
  Fertilizer Tablets are harder to use in the rain or with wet hands because they start to dissolve and become slimy.

COST:

• Nutri-Pak® 2 oz. packets come in case quantities of 300, and each packet costs $0.52.
  
  Fertilizer Tablets are 21 grams and come in case quantities of 500, and each tablet costs $0.10.
• Nutri-Pak® lasts for 3-5 years, and two packets will feed a 2" caliper tree for a total of $1.04.
  
  Fertilizer Tablets last for 2 years, and 8 tablets will feed a 2" caliper tree for a total of $0.80.
